Pour the slip into the mold and let it set for 7–10 minutes, depending on the thickness you desire.

The pieces can be used as decorative add-ons for plates, mugs, tiles, or other ceramic works. They can be attached directly to leather-hard clay using slip before bisque firing.

The lifespan of a ceramic casting mold for slip casting can vary depending on several factors, but on average, a plaster mold can be used 30 to 50 times before it begins to lose detail and become less effective.

Taking good care of the mold can extend its usable life.
